Earth Day is a fun festival promoting good stewardship of the earth. Together we work to manage upcycling and disposal of waste products. This is our 5th year celebrating Earth Day at the Bright Hope residential community in Pottstown. We have food and fun games and prizes for the youth.
Play Streets allows our organization to interact with various community members outdoors at the different playgrounds scattered throughout Pottstown. We provide gardening activities helping neighbors explore the ease of gardening. This will be our third year participating in this national program.
Harvest Festival marks the final harvest of the season and provides an opportunity for our community members to engage, interact, plan and learn to preserve the food through the Winter. This outdoor event hosts a number of tables full of fun games and activities for community members to engage in. There is plenty to do and lots to learn at the Harvest Festival in Pottstown.
Youth Workshops Hearts Of Humanity will be installing raised bed gardens for the students at the YWCA this year and providing weekly tutorials to educate and empower our youth on site. We will have weekly youth garden sessions at the Bright Hope Facility where we have installed 5 raised bed gardens. We will invite youth for after school programs at our workshop on High St throughout the Summer, as well. We have started a YouTube site to make the lessons more widely available, as well.
Cemetery Pollinator Garden Our 5-Petals Pollinator Garden is a mediation garden and an organic oasis for our pollinators to feast and play. The garden hosts a variety of native plants which keep our gardens healthy and active. This is our 4th year of managing the pollinator garden. Our pollinator gardens form a vital part in our Eastern ecosystems.

We are looking to identify 25 families to adopt herbs from the High St planters. This delicate relocation project requires volunteers to help find suitable homes for the herbs.

Celebrate Earth Day with us by helping to rebuild the 3 Sisters Veggie Garden from used pallets. There will also be a table for seed bomb making and another for creating biodegradable herb gardens.
What a wonderful Earth Day event at Bright Hope!! Thank you to Montgomery County Housing Authority for allowing us to once again enjoy the day together, mix and mingle, and plant some stuff! Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation provided us some very cool giveaways and an opportunity to sign up for a garden contest this year. We have a good deal of neighbors who want to come together and make Bright Hope a winner! The new garden bed helps us kick it off! Volunteers from LOWES staff came out to rebuild the 3-Sisters Veggie Garden and give it a fresh, new look! We appreciate the support from Pottstown Community Voices Grant, volunteers and community members in making this event a success!

Please join us to commemorate the service of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We will be creating beautiful Winter planters with evergreens and bamboo to reflect the service and dedication of Dr King in the pursuit of equality and justice.
